Excruiating Hip Pain Solved With Simple Exercises

Today's client was in tears when she came limping into the gym.  She complains of excruciating left hip pain and asked if I had any 'magic tricks' that could help her.   Ninety minutes later, she was grinning ear to ear when she walked out of the gym.

Does your sciatic pain keep coming back?  Do you want to scream and cry when the pain returns?  Would you do simple movements if you knew it stop your pain?

I can help you!  I am a nervous system specialist.  Using an 8-levels model of assessment, I identify the source of the problem and give you holistic drills to reduce threat to your brain, thereby stopping the pain.  Immediately.

What did I do for my client?  Let me tell you.  This was the first session after a vacation with her sisters.  After her flight to her destination,  the pain started.  When she flew home, the pain was tolerable until the stress of her seventy-hour work week broke her again.

The first thing we addressed was fuel supply to the brain.  She had orange juice earlier so I had her bag breathe off and on for 5 minutes.  After bag breathing,  the pain was still there so we started neuro-bio-mechanical work on the sciatic nerves.

There are three nerves that branch off the huge sciatic nerve, so we focused on the tibial, sural and peroneal nerves.  Nerves need to move and nerves that cross multiple joints can easily get compressed or pinched.

The one that eliminated her pain was the peroneal nerve glide but it was the slacking component that provided the best relief.   She was in disbelief.  She was so grateful.  She said, "I knew you could help me".

After 5 minutes of nerve tensioning and slacking, we addressed her vestibular system.

The inner ear system is critical in the perception of pain.  She had just flown and air pressure changes can immediately affect the vestibular canals.  We got her head moving, rapidly.  Since I knew which of her canals need more activation, we went aggressively after those areas.

In addition, she did lots of spinal mobility drills, some arm circles and figure 8s, bounced up and down on the stability ball, vertical eye movements and the more head tilts and turns specific to her needs.

"My hip is wide open!  What did you do?  There's no pain", she cried and hugged me.   We did some more vestibular activation drills and she wanted to do the weight machines.  Here this lady limped into the gym in tears and was ready to lift weights 45 minutes later.

If you're in excruciating hip and low back pain, ACTIVATE YOUR BRAIN, don't medicate your system.    If you've tried everything and NOTHING has worked, BOOK YOUR SESSION WITH ME!

I can get you out of pain and give you the tools you need to prevent the pain from returning or how to deal with the pain if it comes back.

Invest in yourself.
Pain is not a normal part of growing older.   There are options.

Osteoarthritis Knee Pain Diminished after One Private Session

This year, I'm six years cancer-free.   It seems like a lifetime ago but thanks to the best oral cancer team in the country at UCDavis Cancer Center, I truly appreciate each day of my life without cancer.  Of my team members, the radiation nutritionist always made me laugh by keeping everything in perspective.  She was a beam of sunshine among rays of radiation.

Even though we're facebook friends, I was surprised when she contacted me about some balance training services.  In her early sixties,  she's active and looking forward to her upcoming retirement except for one problem:  she's been falling down.

The last fall was totally unexpected and her inability to react quickly enough due to severe knee pain scared her.  She's lost her confidence and feels like she's crawling through life guarded and scared.

She's an educated healthcare professional who knows there's more to life than living in fear (of falling) and in constant pain so she opened her mind and reached out to me.

After an extensive health history, we started some movement drills because movement makes her feel better!  Her number one complaint was knee pain.

We did some brain-based pain relief drills and she immediately felt 'lighter'.  Due to several falls from horseback riding, the nerves in her legs were entrapped.  Nerves that can't move can't transmit signals very well and shooting pain or muscle weakness results.  We did some neuromechanics to get those nerves moving.

Ninety-minutes later, she was walking better and was no longer focused on the knee pain but was thinking more about her walking gait.  She left with a list of exercises to do at home.

The next morning I received and email from her saying she was doing the drills as recommended and her knee pain was almost entirely gone!  She is hopeful about regaining control over her body and living her life without fear of falling.

If you're approaching retirement or are already enjoying your golden years and are living with chronic body pain, you need to contact me.  Pain is an output of the brain and with precise drills, we can send better signals TO the brain for better output (aka, no pain).

Holistic management of chronic pain.  No pills, just simple, subtle strategies to give your brain what it needs for pain-free movement.  I know this sounds "out there" but trust me, your doctor isn't going to give you these drills because they want to give you a knee replacement.

Stop the madness. Stop the pain.  Contact me today.  info@thefallpreventionlady.com

Conquer Hip and Knee Pain in Fall Prevention Class

Most improved student described how the four-week brain-based balance training classes taught her exercises to manage her hip and knee pain.

As a Z-health Practitioner, I teach people how to activate areas of the brain that inhibit pain.  In other words, I teach drills that turn off pain.  Based on laws of neurology, opposing joint drills help people manage pain.

This 66 year old frequent faller explained how many times she had fallen and how worried she was about falling again.  While her goal was to become more steady when walking, she surprisingly learned exercises to take her out of pain.

She doesn't have hip or knee pain anymore.  She learned drills to increase her awareness of surroundings, how to react to imbalances and what to do if she is falling.   Mostly, she increased her lower body flexibility by nearly one foot!

While she was seven inches from touching her toes on day one, she can now reach six inches past her toes!  Her legs are significantly stronger as evidenced by standing up five more times in 30 seconds!  She moves more stable and with greater confidence as shown by her ability to get up and walk around a cone nearly two seconds faster!

Gain control of your body.  Gain confidence.
Lose your fear of falling.  Lose your pain.

Enroll in my brain-based Balance Training classes. YOu're worth it!  Your future depends on it.

Power of the tongue and stability!

We know the power of the tongue.   Neuro-anatomically, the tongue is loaded with with both motor and sensory components.  The fantastical-ness of the tongue is that sensory and motor activation stimulate both the pons and medulla of the brainstem.   Wowww-za!!!!

What this means in everyday terms is that tongue drills can increase stability.  The best way to improve midline stability is to put your tongue in the SPOT.    Studies indicate that a person is 30% stronger when the tongue is in it's anatomical spot.

As you know by know, I don't share any of my training techniques in this blog. My training techniques are not free.  However this one's on me.  The "SPOT" is the follow:
1.  Place tip of tongue behind front teeth
2.  Press tongue up into the roof of your mouth

That's it.
Keep tongue laying pressed up on roof of the mouth.  Tip of tongue is not touching teeth but almost.

In simple English, the tongue is a powerful brain activation tool.  Because the brain needs activation to be healthy,  tongue drills are a fantastic way to stimulate important parts of the brain for better movement through life.

Lower blood pressure naturally with brain-based training

I have been working with a 92-year old client for the past five months.  While he is one of the healthiest seniors I've met, his blood pressure on the right side has been notably high this past week.   First of all, if your doctor isn't taking your blood pressure on both sides, FIRE HIM/HER IMMEDIATELY.  Second of all, if your personal trainer doesn't know holistic ways to lower blood pressure, fire him/her immediately.

As a Z-Health Brain Practitioner, I've studied the brainstem which controls autonomic processes such as blood pressure.  As a certified and practicing Z-Health Practitioner, I implement drills that activate the brainstem, resulting in lowered blood pressure, without medication.   In this client's case, I active right cortex to lower right blood pressure.

Today's measurements are a perfect example.
Starting blood pressure measurements:
Right:  138/89.  Considered high by medical professionals.
Left:   128/78. Considered borderline high by medical professionals.

Ending:  After one hour of brain-based training, blood pressure measurements: his numbers were perfect!
Right:  111/74.  Within normal limits, perfect without medication
Left:    114/70.   Within normal limits, perfect without medication.

As you can see, there is quite a difference between the right and left side at the beginning of the session.  If my client went to his doctor, and they took his blood pressure on the right side, he would be diagnosed as hypertensive and been prescribed high blood pressure medication.

IF they measured his left side, he would be borderline and perhaps given blood pressure medication.  Either way, this man does NOT need to be on blood pressure medication; he needs to be active!

Without any medication, this older guy, over age 90, lowered his blood pressure through brain-based exercises.  I activated his right cortex to lower right side autonomics.  But since he leans right, I also focus on left frontal lobe activation drills.

Today was a perfect combination of vision, vestibular and proprioceptive drills to activate both the right and left cortex which results in lower autonomic measurements like blood pressure.  The take-home message is ditch your medications and start moving with a trainer who activates the muscles and senses of the brain for better output.

Brain-based training is the future of fitness.   I am educated and trained to active the muscles and senses involved in balance and optimized performance.  Move better.  See better. Balance better.
It's real.

Blood pressure control through brain exercise

You probably didn't know that your blood pressure is controlled by your brainstem and through precise brain training drills, you can manage your blood pressure without medication.

As a Z-health Practitioner, I am trained to activate areas of the brain for optimized function.  I think we all agree that blood pressure is required for optimal life function.

Brain Training is Holistic blood pressure control
Last week, I was working with a 90-year old client and her blood pressure measurements at the beginning of the session were:  122/84 on the left and 149/109 on the right.

First I want to educate everyone that if your doctor isn't taking your blood pressure on both sides, you need to fire him/her immediately.  As you can see by my clients numbers, there's a huge difference from the right and left side.  This is because there is a left and right side of the brainstem and control of blood pressure begins in the brainstem, specifically in the pons.

My client's numbers on her right side of her body were pretty alarming but having worked with her for over four weeks, I already know that her right cortex needs more activation.  Her blood pressure readings support my findings.

Because her numbers were so high, we spent the majority of the session activating her right cortex; specifically right vestibular activation, right-cortex activating vision drills, and left side voluntary movement drills.  We also practiced a lot of respiration training drills and cerebellum activation.

Her blood pressure readings at the end of sixty-minute training session were:  112/72 on the left and 102/66 on the right.

Let me repeat this in a way you can clearly see the effect of precise brain activation training on a 90-year old's blood pressure:
Before:  149/109
After:  102/66

Get off the drugs.  Begin a holistic exercise program that starts with organ that is responsible for all movement and thought; the brain.  Brain activation is not voodoo; it's scientifically proven.  It's functional neurology and it's the future of fitness.

If you've tried everything and nothing has worked, try brain training.  Try training the organ that determines the way you move through life.  My name is Kelly Ward and I am a certified Z-Health Practitioner and I re-educate the nervous system to transform the way people move.  It's never too late, you're never too old and you're never too broken.
